Visitors to this huge park have many fun activities to choose from. There are modern campsites at the top of the hill.  There is a seasonal splash pad, play areas, a 13-station exercise course, picnic areas to rent, a community room, and an outdoor theater.  You can also fish at out Sweetwater Reservoir.

Hikers, cyclists, and people on horseback can enjoy 15 miles of trails that wind up and down the hill, through grassy fields, and along streams. The trails offer amazing views of the reservoir and this special urban park.

There are 112 camping sites for campers, trailers, and tents.  Many sites have both water and power.  All campers can use the coin-operated showers.

One of the main attractions at the park is the 60-foot pavilion. This covered area has a kitchen and is great for group campers. There are also four 16-foot picnic pavilions, a campground amphitheater, and a big community room.  You can also take advantage of a 13-station exercise course.

A nearby local park has a lawn, a play area for young children, a splash park, and picnic tables with shade. It also offers stunning views of the countryside.

Trail Notice: We just finished work on the Sweetwater Loop and River Trail.  The County of San Diego, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, and Sweetwater Authority all worked on the trail. This part of the trail (about 1.3 miles) was moved to protect nature, while still allowing people access. Please follow all posted signs so we can keep this trail open for everyone to enjoy.
