Learn about current park closures and updates.
The County of San Diego Department of Parks and Recreation does not currently have a formal program for memorial benches. However, on a case-by-case basis, memorial benches may be added to specific parks if they are a) managed by the County and b) at properties that need a bench. This is determined when a request is emailed to Askparks.lue@sdcounty.ca.gov.

Our naming right program offers a longer-term solution to those wishing to provide a lasting impression in San Diego’s parks and preserves.
Similar to our Sponsorship program, the purpose of the Naming Rights
Program is to continue to enhance our ability to provide parks and
recreation facilities to San Diegans, and services and special event
offerings that appeal to people of all ages interest and
abilities.
Purchasing naming rights for a ball field, playground, staging area, trail, amphitheater, community garden, or community room allows you to claim a space in memoriam, in commemoration and in somebody’s honor.
We recognize that diversifying our funding sources is instrumental to helping us meet the future needs of the communities we serve – and that naming partnerships provide an opportunity to reinforce the image of a community-minded organization, individual or business to demonstrate their support for community investments.
Pricing for naming rights begins at $1,000. The value of an amenity is estimated based on its location, use, visibility, construction, cost and other factors. Benchmarks were adopted and policies were enacted after careful review of nationwide research. Plaques are erected and benches can be built for 5, 10, 15 or 20 years...
