Ideal for picnicking, strolling and sharing time with family and friends, Live Oak County Park has long been the cornerstone of Fallbrook. First inhabited by Native Americans, the 27-acre park is an oak tree forest that begs visitors to enjoy its beauty under a sprawling canopy of massive oaks. Get your game on with three softball fields, soccer fields, and volleyball and basketball courts. The park also includes two playgrounds, six reservable picnic areas, an amphitheater, horseshoe pits and four restroom structures.
A beautiful setting for special events such as weddings, family reunions, and group activities, the park is also home to woodpeckers, hawks and songbirds that swoop between the ancient oaks.
Leash-free Dog Area:
Bring your four-legged family members along to enjoy the Leash-free Dog Park. At the corner of Reche Rd. and Gird Rd. this 3,000-square-foot area is open Thursday through Tuesday from 8 a.m. to sunset, and closed on Dec. 25. The area is complete with a parking lot, a restroom, tables, benches, pet waste stations, trash receptacles and drinking fountains for both dogs and their owners. A maximum of four dogs, per owner, are allowed. Rules and regulations are posted on two kiosks at the entrance of the leash free area. There is a $3-per-vehicle day-use fee, or an annual pass can be purchased at the park office for $25. NOTE: This park will be closed for a minimum of 24 hours following a rain event.
