Lake Morena County Park is a camping and fishing park in East County San Diego. The park has a mix of desert, coastal, and mountain habitats.  Lake Morena is at 3,000 feet above sea level. The park also has 8 miles of trails for walking and biking, TRACK trails for kids, a pavilion, and a playground.

The park is a popular vacation spot for many reasons:

  • It’s a hop, skip and jump away from the well-known Pacific Crest Trail.
  • The lake is regularly stocked with different types of fish.
  • On site are a number of partial RV sites, 86 campsites and group sites – even wilderness cabins!
  • There are plenty of picnic areas for day use.

Be sure to bring water, a snack, good footwear, and sun protection.

Motorized boats can be rented for fishing and touring the lake. Swimming and direct body contact with the water are not allowed. For more information, call the park at (619) 579-4101. Also, the boat dock may close during bad weather, including high winds, storms, rain, or snow. Be sure to call ahead.
