On Friday, March 28th, the Lakeside Teen and Community Centers hosted their first-ever "Women in Rec" career panel in celebration of Women's History Month. The panel included an incredible group of County Parks staff who shared their insights, career advice, and the amazing trails they have blazed on their journey to success.
About 30-40 people were in attendance with the panelists inspiring local Girl Scout troops, Lakeside Teen Center participants and local residents to learn more about careers for women in recreation.
Each panelist shared their unique experiences and insights, including their personal journeys of leadership, the importance of having mentors, and the strategies they used to advance in their careers. They also highlighted the variety of skills needed to succeed in the field and the joy they find in creating recreational programs and working with both nature and the community.
