Close to housing communities and schools, the future site of 9-acre Calavo County Park – off Calavo Drive near Jamacha Boulevard in Spring Valley – is the ideal location for a wide variety of recreational amenities.
A groundbreaking event for the park will take place Thursday,
Sept. 12, beginning at 2:30 p.m. at 2920 Calavo Drive in Spring Valley.
The park will include an all-wheel park, two playgrounds, nature play apparatus, a basketball court, pickleball courts, a soccer field, a baseball field, an open lawn area, an off-leash dog park, a community garden, a walking path, picnic tables, restrooms and parking (with ADA spots plus one EV spot).
Parking will be limited but available on the street and at nearby Sweetwater Place County Park, located at 10691 Sweetwater Park Place, Spring Valley, CA 91977 (a few blocks away). On event day, a free shuttle, driven by employees from Spring Valley Teen Center, will run from 2 to 3:30 p.m. (or until the property is vacated).
