December is here, and County Parks and Recreation has eight events that are sure to spark some holiday spirit. Festivities kick off with a traditional tree lighting ceremony in Fallbrook, followed by plenty of meet-and-greets with Santa Claus across the County.
Official Fallbrook Tree Lighting Ceremony
Nothing will get you in the holiday spirit quite like a tree
lighting ceremony! Visitors of all ages will enjoy live entertainment,
activities, food, booths, shopping and more. Can’t make it to the
ceremony? See the tree nightly through Dec. 31.
Breakfast with Santa
Santa Claus is coming
to a park near you! Make sure the little ones are on Santa’s nice
list. The entire family will enjoy breakfast and an opportunity to
snap some photos with the jolly gentleman. His sleigh will be touching
down at San Dieguito, Felicita and Fallbrook Community Center.

Holidays at the Lake
Join the festivities
at Otay Lakes County Park! We’re hosting a light breakfast, games,
arts and crafts to get you in a holly, jolly mood. Get excited: a very
special holiday guest will be making an appearance, so bring your
cameras to capture all the magical fun.
Little Elves Workshop at Lakeside Community Center
The little ones will learn the ins and outs of becoming one of
Santa’s little helpers at this creative, holiday-themed workshop.
They’ll craft some toys, write letters to Santa, sing carols, and even
snap some photos with Santa himself! Stick around for a special
screening of “The Grinch” at dusk.
Cookies and Milk with Santa
Celebrate the
season with Santa Claus at Spring Valley Community Center! Santa’s
favorite food – milk and cookies – will be served as you enjoy
entertainment, activities and arts and crafts. You’ll even have a
chance to snap a selfie with the man in red!
Santa Meet and Greet
Santa will be making
his last stop at Sweetwater Summit Regional Park before heading back
to the North Pole. This will be your final chance to take photos with
him while enjoying some snacks in this vibrant park setting.
