Volunteer Vacations is an exciting voluntourism program brought to
you by the San Diego County Parks Society in partnership with the San
Diego County Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR). This unique
experience combines adventure and purpose, offering participants the
chance to immerse themselves in multi-day projects that preserve and
enhance our county parks.
From restoring historic sites to revitalizing trails and habitats,
Volunteer Ventures allows you to make a tangible impact while
connecting with nature, history, and a community of like-minded volunteers.

Where: Vallecito County Park and Agua Caliente County
Park
Step back in time and help restore a vital piece of
California history. Join us in reinforcing adobe walls, replacing
bricks, and preserving the legacy of the Butterfield Overland Mail
Route.
Enjoy rewarding days of hands-on work and evenings relaxing at Agua
Caliente County Park, complete with its stunning desert views and
soothing mineral hot springs.
What’s Included?
Thanks to the San Diego County Parks Society, we’ve got you covered!

Free Camping: Stay at Agua Caliente County Park in your own
tent or RV. Campsite tent setups are available for those without
gear.

Meals and Snacks: Food provided throughout the weekend.

Training and Equipment: Learn on-site, with all tools and
safety gear provided.

Transportation: Optional shuttle service between Agua
Caliente County Park and Vallecito County Park.
Who Can Join?

Teens and Adults Welcome: Participants must be at least 14
years old.

Teens Must Be Accompanied: Volunteers aged 14-17 must join
with a parent or guardian. Please note that teens may support
various elements of the event. However, some areas of the building
restoration are limited to individuals 18 years old and older.

All Campers Must Volunteer: Camping accommodations are
reserved exclusively for registered volunteers actively
participating in the program.

No Experience Needed: Tasks are tailored to all skill levels,
with training provided to ensure a safe and rewarding
experience.
