Pedestrian access is available from sunrise to sunset, daily. Public vehicle access and restrooms are available 9:30 a.m. to sunset. No public vehicle access or restroom availability on December 25.

A gorgeous setting encompassing 88-acres, El Monte County Park is one of the original properties in San Diego County Parks’ inventory. The spectacular rocky face of El Cajon Mountain stands high over this popular picnic destination where recreational opportunities abound! 

Enjoy ample grassy lawns, play areas, historic tables and mature trees. Travel up the hillside on the historic flume trail, to view remnants of early water transportation. Or head a mile west to a second property managed by the El Monte County Park team – the Helix Flume Trail – where more remnants are found, along with exceptional views.

Nearby is another section of trail managed by El Monte County Park staff known as the Helix Flume Trail. Stop by for a quick hike to incredible views of the valley, along with educational panels that share the story of early water transportation in San Diego. 

This park features covered pavilions, which is perfect for weddings and special events. It's also equipped with playgrounds, a ball field and restrooms.
