Bancroft County Park

3554 James Circle, Spring Valley, CA 91977
Park: (619) 644-5492
Hours: Sunrise – sunset, daily

Located in Spring Valley, Bancroft Park is a 4.37-acre park that features a historic rock house.

Available for tours (by reservation only), the Bancroft Rock House is named for Hubert Howe Bancroft – a wealthy writer, editor and publisher of history books upon whose land the house was built between 1885 and 1888. The structure saw use as a school house, a guest house, and a fire-safe storage area. Restored in 2010, the house gives a glimpse of what life was like for San Diego pioneers in the 1800s.

Tour the house between 7 a.m. and 3 p.m., but please call ahead.
