Get packing! San Diego County Parks offer a wide range of options for your outdoor adventures, including camping, cabins, and RV hook-up sites. With its diverse natural landscapes and terrains, San Diego County is a playground for nature lovers. Whether you prefer the serenity of mountain forests or the thrill of exploring boulder-strewn slopes, there's something for everyone here. All you need to do is bring your sense of adventure. So grab your gear and get ready for some delicious s'mores by the campfire!

Agua Caliente County Park
| This desert escape is a popular park in the winter. It’s known for its beauty and solitude and the relaxing waters in its two natural pools. Agua Caliente has seven camping cabins with climate control. Each cabin includes a table and chairs for four, two queen-size bed frames (no mattress or bedding), a sink, a bathroom, and an outdoor fire ring with a table. |
| Dos Picos County Park | This park is surrounded by steep, boulder-strewn mountain slopes. It is designed to highlight the ancient oak groves that make your stay here memorable. Dos Picos has six ADA-accessible cabins. Each cabin is 200 square feet and heated (no A/C). It has 110v electrical receptacles, one double bed and three bunk beds (no mattresses or bedding), a table and chairs, a bathroom (toilet and sink only, coin-operated showers located nearby) and a front porch. Outside there is a table, BBQ and a fire ring. Tents or RVs are not allowed at the cabins because of limited space. |
| Guajome Regional Park | Guajome Regional Park is just a few minutes from the Pacific Ocean. It's known for its small but beautiful lake and its historic building, the Rancho Guajome Adobe. Guajome Regional Park has a cabin with a double bed, two fold-out cots (no mattress and bedding), a full kitchen, a table and chairs, a bathroom, and a porch. Outside, you'll find fire rings and picnic tables. |
The spectacular lake is great for fishing but hikers, picnickers, and campers will love it too. Lake Morena has 10 cabins, each 156 square feet, with a great view of the lake. Each cabin has 2 twin beds (1 bunk bed) and 1 double bed (no mattress or bedding). Outside, you'll find fire rings and picnic tables. Restrooms are a short walk from the cabin. | |
| Oakoasis County Park | The campsite is available only for youth groups. It has a picnic area, restrooms, space for tents, an amphitheater with a firepit, and an optional cabin for an extra charge. |
| Potrero County Park | This park is peaceful and quiet, but close to adventurous places like historic Campo. It is also near the colorful town of Tecate in Mexico. There are two cabins at Potrero each with wooden bed frames, tables and moderate climate control. A deck, picnic table and fire ring are available outside. |
| Sweetwater Summit County Park | This park is great for people who ride horses, but everyone who loves the outdoors will enjoy their visit. It is also close to popular places like golf courses, the San Diego Zoo, and Tijuana. |
| Tijuana River Valley Regional Park | Located just south of Spooner’s Mesa, about a mile from the Tijuana River and east of the Pacific Ocean, this huge campground has valley views. It has over 20 miles of trails for hikers, bikers, and horse riders. The campground has a nature education center, 51 basic campsites, and is the first County campground to offer yurts, camping spaces with doors, windows, and bed frames. The yurts have room for 6 to 10 people. |
| Vallecito County Park | The rebuilt sod Butterfield Stage Station is in the center of this desert refuge. It’s a great place to start exploring the wonders of the Anza-Borrego Desert. |
| William Heise County Park | One of our most beautiful parks, Heise lies amid 900 acres of mountain forests. The nearby town of Julian is a great place to visit. Heise has 14 comfortable cabins, each 224 square feet, with insulation and moderate climate control. Inside, you'll find lighting, a table and chairs, and a food pantry. The beds are wood-framed, but mattresses and bedding are not included. Outside, each cabin has a deck, picnic table, and fire ring. |
Showers: All County campgrounds have coin-operated showers. The showers use quarters and cost 50 cents for 4 minutes. You can get quarters at the ranger stations.
